God’s Blessings

New friends and old

Adventures so bold

God’s way of saying

Are you still praying

Met a senior friend who

Loves to laugh and play

Charming and daring

And she’s so caring

So when we let go

To step out boldly

God’s mission is done

As we unite as one

To find kindness and love

Acceptance and laughter

These are truly God’s gifts

That we share ever after

So take that first step

And say how do you do

The riches of God’s blessings

Are just waiting for you

Light Conquers Darkness

If you’re in a darkened room,

And a small candle is lit,

The darkness retreats away

From light the candle emits

If two rooms are side-by-side,

One is dark, the other, bright,

And a door opens between,

The dark is conquered by light!

So when your life seems dark,

Just remember this law:

Light always conquers darkness!

Soon the darkness will withdraw,

And your heart will become bright,

As it is filled with the light.

The Heart Of It All

Flowers splash with color,

Perfect treasures of art.

More than a feast for the eyes,

Their beauty reaches the heart.

The sunset is a painting

Far beyond all works of men.

And it also speaks of hope

To all who will stop and listen.

All of nature is a gift

Waiting to be unraveled,

Filled with hidden roads for souls

That are ready to be traveled.

And behind this beauty there is

Someone at the heart of it all—

Behold! There stands the Creator,

Waiting for us to hear His call!

Yesterday

Yesterday has once again,

come back to let me know.

That my mistakes are not forgot,

today again they show.

Reminding me that once again,

I failed in some small way.

This recall is just a hint,

of what I’ve yet to pay.

Don’t be fooled and think its past,

when all seems good and fine.

Yesterday can be a friend,

it comes here to remind.

It does it as a helpful voice,

to keep us all aware.

If we learn from its advice,

then heart ache we may spare.

So yesterday come visit please,

remind me once again.

Tomorrow comes just much to quick,

mistakes I need to mend.

Remind me what I should not do,

and if I’ve done it right.

One day maybe I will learn,

and win this endless fight.

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard him call;

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way;

I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;

Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I savored much;

Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seems all to brief;

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,

God wanted me now, He set me free.
